If you didn't choose the checkmark on mp3's when installing 1.1, you probably don't have them installed. They are also not there if you installed from the patch instead of the full version. Try reinstalling from the full version file with the mp3's option checked.

I hope it's your ESF resolution that you're talking about! Go to CONFIGURATION > VIDEO > VIDEO MODES and change your resolution. And if you're talking about your normal monitor resolution, god help you! Most monitors these days don't go below 640x480 for Windows OS.

Try uninstalling all previous versions of ESF that you had before installing the new one. If and ONLY IF you have experience with registry editing, then you can also try manually deleting old reg entries for previously installed versions. Then try installing the new version.

Make sure you have the updated graphics card drivers installed. Make sure you're using openGL video mode with a stable resolution.
