Problem with STEAM

Hi PpL!!
can you plz help me? wen I want to connect a server in steam it tells me that the server has and older protocol then my client, and then i cant get into the server. what to do? how i get in?

that server is probally running EVM of EEA, try another server
or get the same version as the server is running
