Sorry for bringing this back up, just noticed it was about me.

I'll try to put this as simple as possible:

I've been in this game since the start of it, I've had this name since the start. I'm not saying this name officially belongs to me, because noone's does, but I fought with this name and I'd like to keep this title.

Whenever I'm starting a game and I notice I'm having someone else's name, I'll gladly change mine. It's a matter of respect. Which obviously, you don't have. I personally visited you during your game at an ESF server asking for you to change. The responses were somewhat like,

"No, I like it the way it is"
"I don't care, I like it"

This isn't Counter-Strike where everyone has the same names. Even better, when someone with a "cool" name plays and leaves the game, people who like his name immediately change it to that, it's beyond sadness.

My name isn't Goten, Trunks or anything. Names like that are meant to be used by everyone, can't argue with that. However, having another capitol in your name isn't completely changing it. I've been playing with this for ages, and you played 'four years' with it, noone cares. I started this game with this, and I'm known with it, so stop curling up with others and fix your business with me.

And if you simply don't want to change your name because your damned ego is in the way. Then I cannot stop you, totally up to you. I just wouldn't feel sorry if you'd get an unfortunate car accident or anything else dramatically somewhere soon.

I wouldn't care about this name if it didn't went this way. I'm not the only one in the world having this name, I'm not saying so either. To me, it's about the response I got. I -politely- (yes. I'm meaning polite in there) asked if he wanted to change his name. I'll say it again, I got responses like "Nah I'm fine like this", "No thanks, I like it the way it is". That isn't something to be proud of, I'm not either. He just purposely said no because I asked him to, not because he 'had his name for six years'.

Sigh, what's the use of this, I'll get replies like "It's just a name, get over it."

For anyone who's interested in my name, try another capitol, LYnx and LynX are free, hurry up!

Yeah I've gone by the name of Sonic the Vampire for about 6 years now and when I run into people every couple of years with names close to mine (like Sonic Vampy or Sonic the Hedgehog and who claim I took their name) I don't feel any obligation to change my name so that people don't confuse me with them. I just tell them to pay closer attention to the name. If they give me crap and boot me, fine, great for them, but they can't take my name from me. People know me by this name. My friends back where I used to live who play the same games know me by my name, and my online friends do too. Why let them strip that away from me because some guy named "Sonic the Hedgehog" was an ******* and they think I just tweaked my name to Vampire and came back in?

However, I agree with Trunks as well. If you don't want to be affiliated with him change your name now while you are still new to the community and just hold whichever one you change over to.

Lynxy I'm tired of your antics, here and everywhere. You can't hold it together and it's obvious you don't give a damn about our forums' rules. The same rules that keep people from flaming you based on your attitute and ruining the threads you post in, because you are not the most popular guy in the community right now. I've suggested a stiffer penalty than a menial warning and we'll see what the admins have to say about it.

Shape up or ship out, lynxy. Your attitute and your grandious narcissism has got to go.

Like I said before there's another player named Saiyan Pride and thankfully he didn't make a huge deal out of it when we ran into each other. So I would personally just try and let it go. Is having a name in a game too much to ask? This so called 'legimate name taker' changes a letter and therefore it's all "ok" ? Changing a capitol doesn't change the name. All I'm asking is to keep this name, is that really TOO much to ask?

Also, I don't want stories like 'I had this for six years' or whatever. I think anyone could have the decency to change a taken name. Like I said, I'd change my name if I ran across a new game meeting someone who has that exact name.

Sorry, if it's that hard to just maintain a name without bringing up trouble, I guess I'll just chew on this and it might learn me a lesson. Blame my attitude for some purposely taking my name, do whatever you wish, it's settled.

Well im probably brown nosing. But i just wanna add my 2 cents in. It may help and may not. From wut i see. Lynx and i are friends but though u brought up that car accident stuff wuz unessary. The fact that u would like to keep ur name and not have other ppl use it is resonable. PPl of esf forums if i took the name of example. Sonic Boyster and went around beam spamming and flaming others in servers. And the real Sonic boyster joins the server and gets blamed and flamed for everything another person did with the same name. No one wants to be put in a position where they are accused of sumthing they did not do. Not only to come with that. There are a few ppl out there that dont like joining a server and being called a newb or suck at this or that. Even though Everyone knows the real lynx is extremely good. And lynx orion is not at his level yet.

Though Lynx u gotta understand the view Lynx Orion is coming from also. If he persistanly does not want to change his name. Let him be. Be the bigger man and show him that a veteran at esf can come to terms with this in different ways then usless arguements. My idea is just to come to terms with him. And if it doesnt work like that. Then either leave it as it is and tell esf ppl the difference between u or just find a way to coop with it.

I hope this settles this fued between the 2 of u.

Actually, no. I don't know what your talking about either. There is no coop, I'm having this name, period. Like I've said, if it's too much asked, I'll live with it. And apparently it is, I can't even have a game without someone having the same name.

Oh and a nice example, didn't make sense to me. Stop daydreaming. There can be a view of 'LyNx Orion', I wouldn't care. If hes to take my name on purpose and coming here to tell hes innocent, fine, crawl by his side and cuddle him.

Your missing the point, perhaps you too should start reading instead of looking at my name and think "Oh it's Lynx, the hater, let's just not read and comment all away, much more fun!".

Well I don't know why you are the one defending your right to keep your name. Its already been made clear that you ARE 'Lynx' in-game and that you've been around more than 'LyNx'. I think the problem here is that you are arguing on this board because u -politely- asked LyNx to change his name and he gave you "No I'm fine with this" and "I like it the way it is". It IS his right to use 'LyNx' and I'm not gonna take sides (although I could because Lynx and I aren't on best terms), but I've been in a server with LyNx probably 10 times in the past week or so in the PT server and I KNOW ITS NOT "Lynx". I dont know why ppl can't get past this and notice the difference. The capital 'N' does give it away that he's not the "Lynx" we all know. If I can see the distinction here, then maybe you and the rest who feel he should change his name or ban him from a server should open your eyes and be more accepting. Not to mention, its not like u made up the name 'Lynx'. Its also a species of a wild cat.. so maybe he wishes you didn't use his name as well ... But maybe Lynx would like to talk to a park ranger about filing papers to get the animal's name changed.

Um, I recall him saying that he played with the name "LyNx" for 4-6 years... unless you have a family photo album with pics of him playing under a different name before ESF, then stfu and quit making it look like he's out to get u or something.

First of all lynx you never "politely" asked him to change his name. You were in my server and I watched you try to put him down with your 2nd grade noob calling. A rose is but a rose by any other name (i believe thats correct). In other words its what you do in game that people should know you by. Stop *****ing about someone using a name they've had in a different game. Just because your using some lame excuse that you've played this game for longer doesn't mean he should change it. The common curtosy here should be for you to suck it up if he doesn't want to change it. On top of that I don't know why you would want him to change it. He may not be really good but hes not a egotistical ass.

I think I've seen just about enough of this. I don't care if any of you were outwardly or implicitly flaming, I don't need talk of each other being egotistical asses, fingers pointed, people chewed out. It's obvious this is just between Lynx and Lynx Orion. It is up to those 2 to sort this out however they like, it is, in NO WAY the community's responsibility to take either's side and widen the argument. If you 2 cannot solve this like gentlemen, then you will just have to live with the knowledge that you share a name based on a rather common word...a Lynx, after all, is an animal, and that was there longer than all of us.

At any rate, this argument has become nothing but "poitning fingers"....and it can be sloved in a much better manner...between the 2 people in concerns the most - end of story. If topics are going to come this way, they won't be allowed to continue.
