Crack open an encyclopedia and learn about global warming yourself. I doubt people are going to want to educate you about the world getting warmer on an ESF forum.

actually, it's still rissing, they are expecting the cycle to end in 2014
the sun goes in cycles too, increasing and decreasing heath output.

the cycle of heating more and more should turn around in 2014.

but yeah, there are way to many factors to make any real guesses xD

There are theories that the Ozone hole actually closes and opens in cycles. Earth's temperature hasn't risen overall since 2003. There have been record high heat waves, but also unseasonably cool ones. I posted links to articles citing this but aparantly the word hasn't gotten out. The oceans cooled off tremendously, which affects the world temperature more than air temps.

Oceans cooling down is actually a sign of global warming. When the earth heats up, the north and south pole get ripped apart. The ice sails towards the seas where it melts, but is still colder than the sea water. Thus, it cools down the sea water. When the sea cools down enough, the Gulfstream cools down as well, and the cycle of warm water coming from America to Europe stops: a new Ice age begins.

That is Global warming, air heats up, oceans cool down.

So you guys saying the Earth temperature stopped rising in 2003.

But people say its gonna end in 2014, when it actually already did in 2003, so why they say it will end in 2014, when its already ended?

And what about the hole in the ozone? Did it gotten smaller?

So still I don't get it, is it getting worse, or better?

As Sicron explained, global warming is what helps create Ice Ages. So no, it isn't getting better and the cycle isn't complete. I posted an article not too long ago stating there has been absolutely no sunspot activity for the last few years, so that may eventually prove to have been a harbinger of doom, in the sense that the last time that happened, there was a mini-ice age.

According to this article, the ozone hole over Antarctica is recovering, which may actually prove to be a bad thing for us:

Hmm, Interesting. Well, if that's true, then let's just hope the cooling gets going before we have too much ice in the water. I'd rather LA didn't turn into a second, less deadly New Orleans.

I'd welcome the cold though. Having been a resident of California my whole life, I can tell you I prefer excessive cold to excessive heat. Though I can't say anyone would much like what a blow it would be to crops...Greenhouse plantations anyone?

Well i did a research paper for my english class before i graduated, and surprisingly the ocean releases and absorbs CO2 based on atmospheric CO2 levels and temperatures.

Pretty interesting stuff...

I heard on NPR that the government (US I think) considered global warming to be as threatening as terrorism, which I laughed at, but who knows. We'll see if the Earth rains hellfire or not within the next few years, although I've always been doubtful, especially since being in Syracuse and going through the winters there. Nothing's changed that much.
