hi can any one help me get this game to work i have d/l but when i try 2 run the game it say HL.EXE is not a vaid win32 appliction . i thought the d/l might be messed up so a d/l it fromn a diffrent site but i still get that message any one know what i should do ?

HL.exe is a file that comes with the installation of Half-Life... and you are supposed to BUY the retail/official version of this game and not download it. It sounds like you've tried to download a warez version of HL, discussing which is not permitted on these forums.

If you have actually bought the official version of HL, try reinstalling from the CD.

no i have the retail version of HL i ment i had tryed reinstalling esf as i can play every other mod of hl i dont think file is messed up just this mod. i need help fixing this

no double posts please ... use the edit button !!!
reinstall HL and update it to 1.1.1.0
if this doesn't work, start HL with another mod and activate ESF by choosing it in HL menu (called "Custom Game") <-- if this works, your ESF shorcut is wrong (as I think)

k i reinstalled hl from cd and updated still no look i cannot find esf in the hl custom game but the game is installed can someone post the shortcut 4 me plz

Edit: any one help plzzzzz i would like 2 try this before steam comes out
