I saw the Family Guy. It was mediocre for FG, so probably better than AD and Simpsons put together.

I never really enjoyed the simpsons past my childhood years. I tried getting back into it, but it just doesn't have that appeal anymore. I never enjoyed a single episode of Amercian Dad. As for Family Guy, it was hilarious the first two seaons, but now, the randomness of Family Guy has become almost entirely predictable and formulaic. Peter makes stupid remark, segue to 80's pop culture reference that goes on for far longer than necessary, Lois gets conversation back on track, Brian makes devastatingly witty remark, Quagmire says "giggity", repeat ad nauseum. It's a very soulless show. I haven't watched it in months though, so im not sure what has changed now.

Family guy is playing on the same old jokes over and over and over again and it's getting on my nerves. I don't know about you guys, but it almost feels like the writers are insulting us :(

Simpsons wasn't that funny either, it felt too... Family Guy... to me, what with the whole Bart and Homer laughing menacingly while holding different weapons every time Michael glances at them. :(

And American Dad? Never that funny :(

Now The War at Home feels a lot like a watered down Married... with Children. :(

:(

EDIT: Decided to throw in unsmiley faces after every pseudo paragraph. :(

It works.

That's why I rarely watch TV anymore. There's nothing good on that won't come commercial free on a DVD in a couple months.

...scratch that, there's just nothing good on.

Eh, it's predictable sometimes, and the jokes are definitely done in a similar pattern, but I don't watch Family Guy for a mind blowing, smart-humor plot. I like to see the characters' antics. Like Stewie saying "mommy" for so long. I felt that they DID let it go for way too long, but I couldn't help but laugh to see Stewie run away tittering. Family Guy is one of the few shows that can actually get away with a drawn out sequence like that.

Simpsons' usually has a thicker, more in depth plot while still being funny. I found the gun scene funny when they showed Homer with a rocket launcher. And I found the 'truck-truck' gag amusing.

American dad is so-so, Steve pisses me off.

Maybe my standards just aren't as high. Ah well, rather be entertained than disappointed.

How come everytime one Family Guy someone says

" Like that time blah blah blah" Then a flash back comes, and it's funny as hell.

Well the way I see it, there are two ways to picture that.

"Unoriginal, reused skits"

or

"Family Guy's Running Gag" (Like giant slingshot attempts in Road Runner cartoons.)

Most likely it :p And I wouldn't say I have high standards, just different ones. I also would be lying if I said I didn't laugh during any of the shows while they were on, all the stuff I posted was just retrospect.

Family Guy was alright, I enjoy watching it.... not as much as the first couple of seasons... but I like it. Simpsons is nearing its death, i think. As for American Dad.... It sucks balls.

I miss DBZ. :(

Personally I think that King of the Hill and The Simpsons are more original.

I never really liked the Simspons.. Especially the last 5-6 seasons are extremely weak :(

Same thing is happening with Family Guy, the first 3 seasons rocked.. Then it started to look like an old recycling plant.. (example: the black weatherforecast guy was pwnage the first time you saw him (IS GON RAIN!).. But then they like, started spamming him in about every episode after season 3..)

Never really saw American Dad nor King of the Hill..

Meh, I'll rue the day the Simpson reach their finale =/

Now is this because people are tired of seeing the same characters or are the jokes/plots actually getting bland?
