this has been bothering me for a while now:

What happens if Goku goes SSJ3, then gets a haircut?

It would instantly grow back. It's mentioned that a Saiyan's (regular) hair never gets longer or shorter, it stays the same always (GT Non-withstanding).

Like when one of Garlic Jr.'s henchmen attacks Goku with his sword, he dodges it but it cuts off half his hair, a few frames later it's already grown back.

I would say thats an error by the animators, rather than a thought out detail.
Im suggesting that the error was that they forgot his hair got cut when the animated the rest of the movie.

It would probably grow back if he goes back to normal then back to SSJ3, just that it would grow back differently. Either that or when he goes back to normal his hair is the same as it always was. The only reason his hair grew longer was to compensate for the enormous power increase (believe it or not). Do not know why his eyebrows disappeared and his face was more defined.

I remember a long time ago someone explained it in scientific terms of how Saiyan's hair grows longer when transformed, too bad I do not remember it. All I remembered was something about energy flows upwards or something...

I guess it would be the same as with a Saiyan's tail. When Goku had his tail pulled or removed he would lose balance and a lot of his energy.

also, what if Raditz went SSJ3? Would his hair be as long as rupunzles? (that one story where the prince climbs up that one princess' hair in the tower )

lmao i bet if raddits went ssj 3 his hair would just turn gold. and if goku got his hair cut... he'd prolly turn into mortol... then friza would come bak to life and use trunk's sword to bring him to the underworld with cell.
