and also, would you need Half-Life 1 inorder to play ESF:Final? (Edit) I bet this a question that's asked a lot, but I haven't gotten a straight answer from anything. I've seen that the older versions need HL1 but I'm getting the money to get Half-Life 1 and I would just like to be sure. :) (The version that's currently in development, I mean.)
Thank you!

Thought it was a heavily modified Source Engine. I'm surprised that the team made the game look so great.
Thank you for the answer!

Its a mishmash of Half Life 1 (GoldSRC) and a custom built engine. Most things related to graphics, physics and so on are made especially for ESF and then used with the Half Life 1 engine, which provides the GUI drawings, netcode and a few other things.

So basically its a cross between Half Life 1 and an engine built from scratch speciffically for ESF.

Oh, cool! Didn't think you could use two engines at once. I got another question now, but it's not really needed to be answered. Is there a name for the engine built from scratch?

--- edit ---

I'm also guessing you're going to need Half Life 1 in order to play the game then, too. :)

Its not 2 engines at once. Its more like we made a large part of an engine and attatched it to HL1 itself, by bypassing HLs own functions.

No real name though, since its not really a "full" engine.

Hahah, yes! You guys should call it the CellEngine! It's a "Perfect" Engine.

Will the final game have AMXMODX compatibility? Not really important but i was thinking of hosting a server like i did in 1.2, just for kicks and bans etc. Nothing fancy
