Well, in the specific case of the forums staff (moderators/admins) it helps to hear from the public on their opinions on how they are handling their jobs, which is most likely why the forums staff related ones are still open. I wouldn't worry about it, there are only so many moderators, eventually they will all be commented on, and the threads will submerge.
