what do i need to play

i have not even downloaded esf i dont think i have the thing to make it work i just got half life generation it has the first half life it has opposing force, counter strike and blue shift what is with all the patches i dont get it (1.1.1.0 ?) i just dont understand so what im trying to say is can someone help me and tell me what i need exactly before i download the game.

Okay... goto http://www.planethalflife.com/half-life/files/
get the latest patch...
run the esf installer.
go into halflife, click on custom game, then go to multiplayer games, click filter.
make sure that in the box where it says games it says 'esforces'. click ok, then press update.

to get the patch i have to wait in line because i cannot subscribe and i dont have the patch 1.1.0.9 i have 1.1.0.8 so does that mean i have to get 1.1.0.9 before i can get 1.1.1.0 but there is one that says it can install 1.1.1.0 no matter which patch you have but that is over 80mb i think i would rather have the 11mb one where do i get the 1.1.0.9 from:cry: :cry:

there you don´t have to wait in a line

dont download from fileplanet they rip u off so badly, i always get screwed over by em. 1 minute in our time is 5 minutes too them. so if ur dl time is like 5 minutes remaining, ur gonna be waiting for a good 25 mins b4 ur dl starts

i do have 1.1.0.8 patch that came with one of the games i think its called counter strike. can't i update 1.1.0.8 to 1.1.0.9 and then update that to 1.1.1.0 can anyone tell me how much MB it is to update from 1.1.0.8 to 1.1.0.9 because then i can update from 1.1.0.9 to 1.1.1.0 and i think its a bit over 11 MB .:idea:

You can do that, but i think it would be easier doing what firefly suggested and dl the 1.x.x.x-1.1.0.0.
This just assures that you got everything that you need

but getting the one that upgrades no matter which version you got, to 1.1.1.0 is over 80mb and i have only got a 56k it will take forever. oh by the way which halflife game do i need to be able to play esf isnt there anyway to get the 1.1.1.0 path on a cd

u can get them on cd from file planet just hit the cd thing next to download
