UPS need help

OK this is the thing, my house is lately undergoing some electric power crushes mostly because of stupidity by running too much electric devices on the same time. This is effects my computer, I feel it. Now I bought with my computer a UPS but I never used it and now I wanna plug it, the problem is I never worked with UPS so need help..

this is it:

I am not sure but what I need to do is: Plug my pc power cable to the UPS and plug the UPS into the house electric input. Now the switch says "reset" and "off" so what mode do I need? And I need to close the UPS when im not near the PC and when does the battery of the UPS is charging. Please please help me, as well if you can explain me about the UPS battery, its charging, the right modes to use and everything you can!
