Um, What the hell?

Ok, i installed halflife, esf, and the updates for hl. Most everything runs except when i try to do the spirit bomb esf closes and when i try to start hl again it wont start(it gives my some illegal opertion message). I dont know what the hell is wrong with it. O, btw when i try to run any program it opens then closes in a second. :\ Can anyone help me?

:\ I've reinstalled it 5 times and it still does the same thing. What all do I need to install to get ESF to work?

Don't run it in software rendering mode. ESF requires OpenGL or Direct3D.

Well... what kind of counter strike do you have? you need half life with MOD counter-strike or have the retail counter-striek *NOTE* you need the latest v1.5 file for CS to get it to work* Also do what he said, set it in openGL or Direct3d and hopefully it will work.

My friend told me it happened to him, and he changed the video settings from software to opengl. It works now . Thx for the help guys.

uninstall it and DELETE the esf folder and than Re install it. that should do it.
