Well, Half-Life 2 is comming out in september.

Are there going to be plans to switch the mod over to HL2's engine?

I have a hard time believing that, to be honest. We'll have to wait and see. In the meantime, it's probably safest to assume that the team will be sticking with HL 1 for now.

models and maps might be easy to convert .. but code .. :S i doubt that, since there is a brand new engine.
besides, if the same models and maps are gonna be used (i.e. low poly) what's the use of converting them to hl2 if the engines abilities aren't gonna be used? and the team said no anyway .. so.

Pretty sure about the mod support was only the code, not maps models sprites and the rest, plus that would possibly raise the requirements for ESF high.

1) Wrong topic... this belongs in ESF Chat

2) Already been discussed, next time read around and search
