Wouldn't it be cool if Krillen, Piccolo, and others could use a triform attack? Here's my idea -
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It would take a second or two to split apart, and ki would gradually be drained as long as the technique is being used.
The player would start the technique by selecting triform attack and firing. While in triform, the player could use either melee or a generic beam attack.
The player would control the center model, while some basic bot AI takes over the other models. These models would stay in a fairly tight formation with the player, and they would each have separate health, so if one dies, the player loses one third of the health he had when he split up. Likewise, if the player-controlled model dies, he would take over one of the bots, and lose health in the same way
Combat:
Of course the power levels and attacks will be split up among the three models, so each model can only do 1/3 of the normal damage...if one of the models dies, the power level would be divided equally among the remaining ones, so the player would lose life, but not power, when he rejoined.
The AI could only go into melee with the targeted player, with a tendency to surround the target to get around blocking. If any energy attacks are fired, the bots will fire theirs at the same time, following the same path, or else aiming at the targeted player.
If two people use the triform technique on each other, the models would automatically target their counterparts, and duke it out with them. If one of the players is down to two bodies, the extra bot of the other player will attack the nearest one.
Rejoining:
When the three models would merge together, averaging whatever health and ki each one had left and adding the power levels (so the player could get his full strength back). They would merge together again whenever the player runs out of ki, changes to a different attack, or gets stunned.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's just an idea, and it would require a lot of programming, but I think it'd be really cool to see in action
