By default, all porn will be blocked in the UK. Because think of the children. Rather than parents actually, you know, parent, Cameron has decided he'll just go ahead and do the leg work for you. If you want porn, you'll have to opt out of the family restrictions. If you don't choose either option, you're automatically enrolled.

How do you feel about this? Have they gone too far? Is censorship truly the answer to protecting our children?

Hahaha Horatio is going to be sad. The pornography industry is not really a problem in my opinion. Finding a porn magazine as a kid and seeing everything is part of being a kid, Is it going to be just in England?

It should be an opt in restriction, not opt out. Nanny state gone awry.

Can't they all just walk down to the shop and open a magazine if the internet gets blocked

Dumb rule is dumb

Stupid thing to do! A bit to extreme in order to keep the "children safe"... Has this gone through legislation?

Please, the day a country manages to successfully block internet pornography is the day I shave the hair on my head into a penis and throw mayonnaise at random passers-by.

In his speech, Mr Cameron said family-friendly filters would be automatically selected for all new customers by the end of the year - although they could choose to switch them off.
It's all optional with it automatically being on. I don't really see the harm in that.

The other way around would be better, Atleast that way someone who is somehow unaware isn't censored or someone who isn't able to opt out for some reason

Censorship is wrong, and it certainly shouldn't be the default.

What kind of message is this sending to "the children"?
It's telling them that a natural process humans do should now be shunned and deemed as corruption.
Albeit pornography is clearly not for educating children but rather entertaining adults.

Obviously, they consider British parents too irresponsible to 'turn porn off'.

Two great things that describe this silly legislation:

What's worse is you're effectively registering with your ISP, putting your name on a list and marking you as a deviant. Congrats. You're now on their intelligence agency's speed dial.

Actually the worst thing about this is if they can start with censoring this, then what can they censor next? And there goes the firestorm. Look at how nice it spreads...
