When did the forums come back up? I remember they were down for a couple of weeks... Or maybe it just seemed that long to me... Anyway...

I got this game on Friday, and I gotta say. SNK has finally done it... But if you've played the KOF 02 & 03 games via the emulators I just gotta say its a whole diffrent story in the PS2 versions. For one, the game finally looks better. If you thought Garou: Mark of the Wolves looked good and SVC: Chaos too, then you haven't seen nothing yet. The backgrounds are sharp, as far as the characters go so are they, their animations are the same but many of them have new or diffrent super moves. The thing that amazes me the most about King of Fighters 02/03 on the PS2 in the backgrounds animations. They are 3D but the animations are so smooth, it doesn't look like their are any frame skips in them. I mean, you can pull these GFX off even on the PS1. However im making a big deal about it because SNK Finally did the right thing!

Both games look really sharp, I recommend everyone to go out and get this game, its two games for $40. And dont bother for the Xbox version (Xbox controller sucks for 2D Fighters + you gotta wait two more month or so). Heh, when I compared the KOF02 on my neogeo emulator with the PS2 version... I deleted that ****. Anyway... Yeah...

I never could tell by the screenshots, but the character named Adelheid... I keep wondering if hese Rugal when he was young... or if hese Rugal's Son... But my best guess goes on my first thought. Also I noticed in KOF02 the stages for Rugal and the "New Challengers" (Angel/K9999) have been changed to match the old storyline (I know 02 is just a dream battle but its based off of the previous battles with Rugal). Because for one the new stages make more sense. When you fight Rugal in the original version of 02 it looked like your in a facility instead of an aircraft.

Anyway... yeah... Anyone got something they wanna say?

Its kinda sad though... SNK Finally made something out of the KOF series but they wont proceed past 2003... Unless the next title they have in mind just wont be called 2004 but will still be following the story... I read that in an article somewhere I whiles back... Oh well...

Never did play KOF '03, but I do have an old import of KOF '02 for my DC and it is indeed a very good game.

SNK finally got back on track with the KOF series with '02. I still don't think it's quite as good as '98 (or Dream Match '99 if you got it for DC), but it's still very enjoyable and has many things '98 didn't have. Such as improved graphics (after playing newer 2d games, trying to re-adjust to '98 is well........difficult), and some new interesting characters, like Angel and K9999.

Overall, it's probably my second fav KOF game. It isn't quite as fun and well polished as '98 is, but it makes up for it with the fact that it has all the newer characters that came around in the second story (like K', Kula, and others).

Pair '02 up with '98, and you have the perfect one-two combo of fighting games. Nothing can beat these beauties.

meh K.O.F 02 wasent bad just a shame there was no story behind it. meh its all good. i never layed 03 YET but i will soon im hoping that K' isint slowed down as i've herd.

and yes they already did make sumthin past 03 but its not known as kof 2004. its called neo wave or sumthin like that. anyway the game sux no story. its like playing Street fighter 2 where at the end u see a picture of the character doing something then u see credits.

Hopfully they will be smart and give capcom the rights to making Snk Vs Capcom 4 or sumthin.

K is not slowed down, however I did notice that they changed one thing about him... Well maybe two things.

In 03 he has an Air-Projectile (He kicks a Flame at you). And after your perform Iron Trigger and Follow up with Second Shell, you cant hit the enemy immediately, hese been given a new Super Move too, it reminds me of Ken's Shoryu-reppa (K' does two of his Crow Bites, each does about 3 hits and he ends it with the kick).

The game seems more balanced too, and it actually has priority (the super moves have invisibility frames). They also tried to pull a Yun/Yang/Vism type thing with the new character Duo Lon, but there is something wrong with it: Sometimes the other hits dont hit the enemy. But its still aint that bad. Duo Lon is a somewhat descent character (there are things that make him better).

I dont like how they changed Gato though, he seems useless and IMO he was better in Garou: Mark of the Wolves...

One of the bosses (Adelheid) is like a young Rugal... Im still not sure if its Rugal's Son or if its him in the past... But he looks alot like Rugal. Just younger...
