I'm doing this little project called Demonic Confidence. The basic idea is that you do increasingly socially daring things for 30 - 60 min per day for 21 days. It starts off pretty small and builds up to be horrifyingly ballsy by day 21. You arn't supposed to know what is coming next, so if you would like to try it, you'll have to PM me for a link and stop reading now. The idea is that by the end of 21 days, you will no longer every have any fear of any social interaction. I already have some confidence with this, but I figure I could use it to solidify that (and also have some fun).
Day 1
Starts out fairly easy. Objective: ask girls for the time randomly on the street. I would call them out on it if they said the wrong time. I only approached girls that were at least a 6. I would open any 1 or 2 set (set = group of people). If for any reason I didn't get the time (ignores me, says she doesn't have the time etc), I added 2 minutes to my original 30 minute timeframe (I ended up doing it for a full hour). I also would not eject from the set until they ejected.
First girl I stopped in the middle of a crosswalk told me the wrong time. When I called her out on it, she started arguing to me about how I'm wrong. I did my best not to laugh. I told her I just asked someone, and they told me the correct time. She gave me a frustrated look and walked away. A while later, I opened a girl that was walking next to me.
"1:23"
"You sound a little slow."
"Haha, what?"
"I meant the time but maybe you too, haha"
I got that girl's number. That was the only truly favorable response I got.
Edit: I forgot to add some of the interesting interactions I had on day 1. As a side note, no matter what time the girl would say, I would call them out for being wrong. I went up and did this to two random asian girls. They were really awkward and quiet, not much of a reaction at all. Like 20 min later, I saw them walking down the street again, so I went up to them and asked them the same question. They instinctively reached for their phones, at which point they realized it was me. They gave me a really awkward look, looked at each other, and then walked away. I started laughing.
Stay tuned for day 2.
