well you could just do it like 1 big ball, and put a few alpha planes along the outside of that. Best way I can think of anyways

I started texturing him, it would be a lot of easier if someone could skinmap him for me XD

note that this is a few mins photoshop test

also there you can see that the hair is looking awesome, but when I turn of the back faces it looks ok but not from every angle :/

well, you could always duplicate the planes and flip em. Gives it extra polys i guess but if its meant for ingame use, its gotta happen.

yeah I guess there isn't the other way with it now and I'll release it for whatever, I just lost 2 hours of uv mapping and feel kinda retarded..
