Well i decided to create this thread for all you ppl who think we suck. I just wanted to know why you hate this country so much. That or us. Keep in mind that if this starts to flame ill get a mod to close this shiz ASAP. So NO FLAMING EACH OTHER! You can argue and say no your wrong or something but do not start with the name calling. Ill kill you if you do... :devgrin: Anyway well in on topic news. This morning i read the news on how Johnny Depp thought this country was a "broken toy" n what not. I was a lil bit shocked to hear that from him and i was also disappointed to hear that too. I was like tisk tisk tisk Johnny why!! you were my fav actor...at one time..but why! I mean ill probably still see that new movie thats coming out. "Once Upon A Time In Mexico" Sequal to the Desperado movie. And i think its gonna ROCK! but anyway i wa slike ehh ill still see that movie just not for you Johnny boy! Now its really for Antonio! :yes: O and never forget Salma Hayek. The finest chick alive!!! Well I'm American, and I could tell you that most places hate us because we follow our leader, George W, at least some do, but other countries usually follow their leader as well, so hating a whole country for their leader isn't very fair, I dont think.

like theres things here, we dont even think about it being special having like food and clothes in plentifull amounts, and the other countries who lack it are jeaolous to an extent that we dont think its anything special,

I'm Scottish (for the uneducated, thats the top bit of the Uk. Britain.. the one with the weird Prime Minister who aged like 20 years during World War 2.5) and I suppose its up to me to represent the foreign countries at the moment, no other foreigners have appeared yet.

I dont really hate America, I quite like some bits of it. Admitedly Bush is a trigger happy lunatic, Clinton was empeached for possibly the stupidest reason on Earth and theres some things about Texan companies polluting most of the world. But what the heck, we do part of that as well..

To nuttzy I've got to ask, what countries do you speak of that have been raised for 'generations' to hate Americans? The British dont really.. we use the whole 'late for every war' joke in kidding. France had its own reasons for not joining WW 2.5, I wouldn't put it down to hatred. Russia, to my knowledge, hated all forms of Capitilism. And as for the Middle East countries, well most powerful countries have buggered them around so who can blame them for taking a poke at one..

So.. um.. I guess I dont hate America. Hasn't done anything to me. I suppose you could get better gun control.. listen to other countries occasionally.. But thats about it.

if you guys saw my last sig that violated the AUP you'd know what I am but if you read the little message under my name you'll know what I am... and I kinda think USA is pretty kool n stuff but alot of other countries are poor like whoa... except Japan... the only reason i'm hear is becuz where I used to live is a commonwealth to this country and the one thing that is bad about this country is that no one likes it becuz it is all out of order and what not... I kinda agree with Johnny Depp n stuff but.... forget I said anything.. Ok I'm from holland, I don't hate americans. But I do think that a lot is going wrong in your country. And I can't believe that someone with an IQ lower then 50 can become president in such a country

and to nuzzty- I don't want to stereotype americans, but sadly around 50% of the american people sound like you. Note the sound part. Thinking their country is the greatest, thinking they own everything and that their world is the best, I have the perfect illustration for this.

The biggest problem I have with America is the "American Attitude". For some reason, Americans think we are better than everyone else on the planet and can do and say whatever we want.

And I hate being classified into that group. We are basically the arrogant kid in school. And nobody likes the arrogant kid.

Well, I'll think you'll find that most countries are full of stupid, arrogant and ill-informed folks (including myself, at times.) It's just that because America exerts so much more power and cultural influence than anyone else they obviously get far more attention and criticism, and that's when the views of certain individuals become exaggerated and generalised, as if they are indicative of American opinion as a whole.

In fairness to America, most of the "terrible" acts they've committed over the years-and yes they've done plenty-would have been committed by just about any other country had they had the same global position, resources, influence, etc . . . and I can think of quite a few countries on this planet I'd rather not have the same power and authority the US has. It's like how people often slam the yanks for using nuclear weapons before anyone else, but really, does anybody honestly believe that if the British, Russians, Germans, Japanese or French had the atomic weapon first, they wouldn't have been just as quick to use it? Not that any of this excuses America for the wrong-doings it has committed, of course.

i didnt mean to make such a broad generilization.
i know people from the south, and yes they are very nice people and a joy to be around.
but certain places are very.... white. there is no diversity in the south. no diversity breeds racism and bigotry. now, i live in new york. one of the biggest places to find just about any type of person your looking for by just going outside. you tell me which place you would expect to find more hatred for another human being.

now of course not everyone in the south is a "redneck", theres plenty of those in new york as well. but generally when people think of stupid racist americans, they think south. im NOT saying its true. in fact there are plenty of stupid people verywhere. its just a stereotype. pretty similar to "we threw all the jews into isreal". i can assure you my friend, there are plenty of jews in america and everyplace else, (well maybe not germany ;/ )

I'm trying to be impartial regarding your post, forgive me if I'm not completely.

Did it occur to you that their Government has asked us to remain, and that 'Osama' represents a minority of the Saudi population?

What makes you think we have any presence at all in North Korea? We have troops in Japan and South Korea, with their permission/and or request.

Really? And what greedy reasons would those be, considering the country is theirs, and we're not taking any resources whatsoever, and we're funding their reconstruction? If anything, it cost us a countless amount of money, for "greedy reasons."

I suggest you read World History, and see whose idea it was to form the nation of Israel, and who proposed it..because it wasn't the US, I'm afraid. It was the UN. The US was the first country to recognize Israel as an independant Nation.

Naz, I am holding back the urge to flame you for that picture, it might be a joke and all but what the hell.. Yurope? We're not that stupid. And it WAS the British that pushed Jews into Isreal and the UN mostly formed it.
I DO believe we should leave North Korea DMZ, even a lot of the South Koreans want us out, its just a waste of time and money. But, I DO believe dethroning Saddam Hussien was the right thing to do the cost of this so far has been over 200 lives, 90 billion dollars and a lot of pissed off countries, to say we did all that for oil is anything BUT right.
These countries like Saudi Arabia, Afganistan, Pakistan, etc. they were all born into these groups of Muslim Exremists, they were TAUGHT IN SCHOOL to HATE America, the West, and any of America's allies.
American's dont think we are any better than any of you, just because we disagree from time to time, insults are thrown back and forth, but none are ever really meant to HURT a country. We all know France surrendered without really putting up a fight in WWII, while it took the U.S. 3,000 lives in Pearl Harbor to finally DO something about the Fachist Party known as the Nazis.
I guess you could say over our past history we've tried our BEST to be an Isolationist country, but through almost ALL wars, it NEVER worked for us, and we always got attacked and lost thousands of lives.
We were practicing Isolationism while WWI was going on, we stayed out of it, and told Britain to hold their own against the Axis, until the German President sent a letter to Mexico that stated something similair to 'Attack America and we will back you, and you will recover your lost lands (Texas... umm.. Lousiana? Yeah and Texas..), luckily we were able to stop the Axis before something like that happened. An even more serious event similair to that was Pearl Harbor, when we were attacked by the Japanese and lost over 3,000 men.
Anyway I guess my point is we have tried isolationism, we've tried it so many times, it just really dosn't work, especailly now with North Korea ADMITTING they have a Secret Weapons program, were in even MORE danger. Every time we try isolationism we get attacked, Pearl Harbor..9/11.. the Cold War, when there were nuclear missles ready to launch at us from Cuba (AKA Cuban Missle Crisis, thank god for JFK) you know... it hasn't really worked for us.
It might not be an excuse to invade everything but if you'd look at our history you would understand us a little better.

the problem with north korea is that they have reactivated old soviet things like that nuclear power plant and have restarted programs they had earlier for a nuke.

What the dictator claims is that he wants the nuke so that he can cut military cause they do have the largest standing military.

The Korean War never ended. its in a stalemate.

thats why this dude wants nukes so that he doesnt get attacked. and so that he can feed his starving peeps. also besides north korea being a threat to south korea which is out ally.
north korea has told our government that if our government didnt give them food and money for their people and loosen up on the sanctions that it would sell its chemical,biological,and nuclear arsenals to the highest bidder, wether it be a weak nation or a terrorist organization.

Thats when the problems happen. I am about 60% sure that well go to war with korea right now.
it all depends on how we think we can take out the nukes first. cause the fact is that they do have nukes. not many only in the single digits. but they do. North Korean unlike iraq is a real threat. Luckily we have south korea and japan. china would own their asses but i doubt china would ally with us on this matter cause they are neighbors.china would prolly be neutral. China pretty much made north korea. When our marines helped our army and pushed the north koreans allllll the way back north to china china joined in and screwed us over back to the halfway point.


oh yeah and the thing about israel
although the un set up israel. THE US put it on the map. if you havent noticed israel has abrams tanks.. hmmmm i wonder were those came from. they certainly arent the UN lepord and lepord 2 tanks.
also they have nukes which i believe is a greater threat to the middle east then 400 saddams.
and when they took over palestine they didnt divide it fairly they just carved right threw it theres the gaza strip then israel beloow that then more palestine below that.
its gona be a while before peace comes along in the middle east. its not just because we put israel there but also because we do war training in what muslims arabs consider holly lands in the desert.(no they dont consider their entire country holly)
Its a complicated matter.

Best thing for the world is for the US to take over.
we all need one democracy. its one of the most just systems along side with socialism but socialism has come probs.
lot of things gotta be fixed in this world.
people will probbably never like the US because we are the most powerfull, we do hog resources.

The USA is an awsome country but just like any other country it has draw backs. after all we are only human.

We -didn't- "put Israel there." The world felt extremely sorry for the Jewish population of Europe, and the UN founded the country. The US supported them out of generosity and sold them weapons and tanks to defend themselves. You act like US troops went in and killed all the Palestinians, which didn't happen at all.

How can you criticize the US for giving people who have suffered so much throughout history, the capability to defend themselves? They've proven they have no interest in 'military conquest,' only in defending themselves against other nations or terrorists within their nation.

I don't know if peace in the middle east is even obtainable in our lifetime, or our grandchildren's lifetime. It is a region filled with hate, instilled since birth.. a very sad place. Not to say that religion hasn't had very negative effects here.. because there are some. But there are less people here who "blow themselves up at an Abortion clinic" then people who devote their lives to the destruction of people who they've never met other then in the stories told to them by extremist priests.

North Korea has made some -extremely- foolish mistakes.. Threatening to sell weapons--chemical, biological and otherwise, to the highest bidder.. tempting us to fight. They knew full well what our reaction had to be.

no i dont mean we ourselves put them on the map
but the help we gave them was more than necesary.
i mean we gave them a lot of abrahms tanks and bradleys, weve given them more recently.
during the first gulf war our marines were STILL!! using m60 tanks!!! we did use abrams tanks but we used a **** load of m60s which tottally blew my mind.

instead of giving them m60s which is more than a match for the enemies t72s we gave them something that would tottally rape their asses.
the thing is i say we put them on the map cause without our assistance they would have been kicked out as almost happend the first couple times they went.
and the thing i dont like that we felt sorry for them right they were missplaced from germany. but that doesnt (in my eyes at least) make it ok to missplace another people. the UN instead of helping them found another small country (Israel is a spec of sand) we decided to give them a land they had abandoned hundreds of years ago and take it over eventhough there was already people living there.
