Pretty surprised that there's no music threads around here, I'm sure some of you have some good music taste!

Let's talk about music, share songs/artists that we dig, and maybe even help people find the right artist to listen to.

Let me start it off:
I've been listening to a lot of Nujabes recently, because I finished watching Samurai Champloo not too long ago. His music is so amazing, especially his rap productions that he made while alive.
This ones from Samurai Champloo:

I find myself nowadays listening mostly to "Djent," a type of progressive metal mixed in with some metalcore. I've been mostly listening to progressive metal in general I guess as well.

2 good examples of Djent

@Deverz Rishloo sounds awesome. Thanks for posting that.

Also Jurassic 5 is also a great hip-hop group pretty similar to Tribe Called Quest

I like a lot of different music (80s metal is my favorite) but the vids I always seem to wander back to are these. Maybe its just because I play guitar so I find their skill intriguing.

Steve Vai - Hes a really laid back guy, I met him once at a Carvin equipment expo. I got to tour their guitar/amp factory as well. He played afterward with Billy Shehan. Those two are awesome together!

Jon Gromm - A friend showed me this vid a while back. I thought it was really cool the way he plays his guitar and he can sing decently as well!

I found Rishloo via last.fm recommendations, pretty happy with the find :)
As for those songs, I can't get into screamed lyrics, just doesn't make me happy inside

I'm liking that, I might have to find more. It's almost a little to screamy for me though

Corey Taylor is awesome as a vocalist and as a lyricist, but I could never really get into Stone Sour's new stuff. I bought their first album way back, but that was when I was a lot younger and wanted to get into as much rock/metal as I could. Now I find them to be kinda generic and pop-ish. Slipknot up until their third major release was awesome, it's a shame Paul their bassist died. I hope they continue to write more albums.

I love last.fm, I've found a lot of great music through them. Screaming and growling is not for everybody, but when it's used right it can be awesome. Gojira uses all death metal-ish growls and the like, but their lyrics are awesome, a lot of stuff about how humans are ruining the environment and Earth in general, and some really philosophical songs about death and what happens in the afterlife. Periphery has an awesome combo of screaming/growling and clean vocals (their vocalist has an awesome range) and their music is just ******* epic. I like to say Djent is like the dubstep of metal, but has no real connections with dubstep whatsoever other than the fact that djent is ******* nuts and all around the place musically.

This band was featured on TPB for a bit and this song if freaking awesome. Features atmospheric guitars, awesome rif***e, and some great solos.

Also Meshuggah just released a new music video that's really cool. Reminds me of the Tool videos, but with more of a grungy feel to it.
