It'd probably be even more advanced than that, if they got it started properly. See, these would be organic cells, which means we'd look exactly the same, but could produce new traits and abilities, like say; a faster healing factor, a better immune system, eyes that see better in the dark (and in the light), more strength, more agility, more speed. In fact, they've modified a gene in a mouse/rat to make it a supersoldier. The only problem was that it became extremely violent, which is bad.

What they did was double the amount of mitochondria in the mice or rats or whatever. This had the effect of making them live twice as long, be able to last twice as long, eat twice as much, and be five times angrier. It also made them unusually skinny, though, probably as a result of their incredible metabolisms (mitochondria-> powerplants of your cell)

That might be a quick fix for obesity, though.
