Someone Please help me

I cant even get to try the game at all when it is in the loading screen it locks up my whole computer. First I had the vocieicon.spr problem now Instead of telling me that it acts like it is about to load up then crashes my whole system. Any ideas whats happening

I have tried multiple things to get ESF beta working and I will get to the loading screen it will not spit out any text and then I get a pop up saying HL has performed an illegal error and must shut down. I have changed the video settings everyway imaginable. I even downloaded the most recent version of Direct X yet nothing is working Do I have to have a complete working copy of countersrtike? I can run the esf fine (I was using it untill I downloaded the new beta 1.0) Does anyone have any extra suggestions. Do you think there might be a difference because Im trying to creat my own LAN game???
