How do you take and view snapshots?

You mean ingame?
Press F5 and it will save the pic as mapnamehereandpicnrhere.bmp(for example esf_cell_day0001.bmp) and will save it in your half-life folder if you're using WON or in your esf folder if you're using steam. You can view them with paint.

or u press the print button and go into paint, and paste it.
thats the windows way to make a screenshot, but 4 esf its better with f5

Besides with f5 you can make more then 1 pic
