It's juvenile, it's classic Resident Evil gameplay, and the story is generic.
However, the character, being a "Mexican Bruce Campbell", and his sidekick being one long penis joke, end up working. The combat becomes really fun, the parodies work, so very well...
And just in general, it's a hoot to play; and it's over before it gets old, with plenty of variety.

The bits where you play in 2D are so fun...the music is wonderful and combat works well. I hate aiming with a controller, but such a fun game...if you have a PS3, or eww, a X360, you have to play it!
I just wish it had a New Game + Feature....alas.
