Might not need cars and computers, but we could easily each have one, if some people didn't need to have twenty.
We have enough to meet basic needs. Unless you intend to steal from the rich to give to the poor, we won't all have a high standard of living.

Not saying we should. I'm saying we should all have a medium standard of living.

Sounds utopic, and socialist, but I really think this can be accomplished with just a little more human solidarity. Okay, a lot more. But still. It's okay to want more than you need, but some people just take it too far, often at the expense of someone else not having even what they need.

I mean, let's face it, most of today's wealthiest nations are the wealthiest because of their long past of pillaging and conquering. We, humans as a whole, have this constant desire to get more, and more, and we don't even care if someone on the other side of the world is starving while we're being greedy just because we can.

We humans are a greedy bunch. Its in our nature to want to get as much as we can regardless of who we have to screw over in order to get it.

Thats something that wont change. That behavior is exactly why communism or socialism cant work in our society.

Well then we're ****ed. And so is empathy, which to me in many ways equals to what makes us human.

Also to the original purpose of the topic, like you yourself said it was staged and all. Besides wrestling fedarations there are also other full contact fighting sports (karate, boxing, MMA etc...) which are not staged. To me fighting in controlled environment with up to 70% of power being used is fun. Without any intention to hurt or hate. I know it's difficult to understand, but it has nothing to do with the innate instics to mame and kill. Unless somebody does something to you or your friends, family, etc, then yes I'd like them to face the pavement and leave their teeth on it.

On the other hand, I don't participate in full contact competitions because they sport injuries and require alot of pre-arranging, and programs and diet and all that body-mind draining stuff.

But if you are to talk about the people who watch these things, then yeah, most are, to me atleast, too "beast".

Wasn't Cancer, Aids, and such listed as population control by the government? I can't remember where I read this so don't take it as me believing it.

But on the note of Currency, I still think we should just have a Euro currency. The world using one form of currency. It would cause some trouble I believe but in the end I think it would work out great.

If we're going with one currency, it'd be the dollar. The EU is desperately trying not to self-destruct right now, while America is embracing Ragnarok.

You do realize that China holds more dollars than America has ATM right >.>

Besides im with the people who think communism is a good idea with a terrible execution in the past and that money is not needed if we ever want to achieve global peace.

Uh...no. China has maybe a trillion of our debt. Our GDP is 14.15 trillion a year. Our allies combined hold more of our debt than China. The EU, on the other hand, is importing US economists to help fix the mess they've created for themselves.

Communism works on paper because it doesn't take human nature into account. It'd probably work on a smaller scale, like in a town. But in a nation? I don't think so.

They're also importing Norwegian economists. Guess what? It doesn't mean Norway or the US has good economists.

Capitalism doesn't exactly take human nature into account either, or there wouldn't be such a ridiculous amount of socialism in it.

Didnt i kinda mention that with the terrible execution. In any case Avenger is right. Capitalism has just as many flaws as Communism. The difference is that the leading party just hides the fact that its screwing people over in order to stay untouchable while in Communism they blatantly and openly say it.

Actually, it does.

Capitalism absolutely takes human nature into account. It counts on people being greedy, and it counts on people wanting to have better **** than their neighbors. The socialism aspects of it are more to make capitalism easier to swallow, than to fix a broken system, and even then, clearly, you can do quite a bit without being as socialistic as Europe. Capitalism is a ****ty system, but its the best we've got.

@ Grega: Capitalism has less flaws than communism, which is why its used by the economic powerhouses of the world, and why communism has failed just about everywhere. Your last statement doesn't really make sense, because that has more to do with a nation's respective government than their economic system.

The last statement was about Black Friday in the US if you remember your history lessons. It was caused by a massive withdrawal from private banks by nearly everyone in the US. To spook that many people you need a lot of influence. And what replaced those private banks when they went broke. The national bank. The power of money of the entire USA gathered in one central location. Sorry but thats as Communistic as it gets with gathering the influence of an economic area in a single point. Communism used that method so that they have an easier control over that area.

Whats the Capitalistic excuse?

I'm fairly certain you have no idea what Black Friday was about, but I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and ask that you elaborate on your post.

Well im not to versed with american history. But from what i know and correct me if im wrong. One of the main points of your independence from Britain was to get rid of the central bank system. Im guessing people knew that to much power in a small area is to prone to abuse. Hence why throughout american history private banks were a big reason why America was considered the land of freedom and dreams. Since all power was not centered and governed but instead spread out.

And having economy like spread round like that is one of the main points of Capitalism. So why is the centralized bank system so accepted now. It goes against one of the main capitalistic principles. Even if the initial reason was fear from a second black friday, that was generations ago. That fear is gone in the current generation yet you dont see private banks popping back up anymore.

Basically my whole point is that for a country known for Capitalism your banking system is flat out Communistic.

Read this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federal_Reserve

It should help you understand just what the Fed is vs. what you think it is.

Our banking system, if anything besides capitalistic, is occasionally socialistic in that we bailed out our banking institutions to prevent the calamity that was experienced during the Great Depression. But other than that, our banking system is purely American capitalism.
