Dalte is too lazy to make this thread x.x

So Dalte found this neat little modeling program called Sculptris.

http://www.sculptris.com/

It's really more like playing with computerized clay than anything. Not really good for exporting since it's so inefficient with polys. But we've been having fun with it. Here's my first attempt from scratch.

I just kinda started out randomly and it ended up being vaguely mask shaped. Check the youtube link below for demonstrations on competent uses :p

Everyone should try it and post results :p

Ooooh this looks like Zbrush or Mudbox. Perhaps not for indie games with your poly limits and what not, but could be used for animation with the right tweaking at least.

EDIT: OH I AM SORRY IS THIS WINDOWS ONLY? GOOD DAY SIR!

Am I the first person to successfully crash this program? After 1 minute of play it crashed. XD

But seriously this is a pretty awesome program. Its fun to play around with.

Lol, Mac users. Looks like you can quickly reduce the poly count. Probably lose a ton of detail, but it could have its gaming uses. Especially for doing quick tests for art before constructing final pieces. So say you have an idea for something you want in game. Would be quick to just mock up a model and then see if it works for you.

If it exports to a usable format you could use it for high poly bakes (basically the same thing you do with the commercial sculpting proggies). Looks cool, will dl and play with

If it is something similar to Zbrush, wouldn't it be usefull for normal maps and the likes? That and if you just have to make a high poly model for a movie or something where you don't have to worry about polycount [that much], it could really be a fun program. Gonna have to try it myself, too bad I don't have a tablet yet though.

Works ok with mouse. No idea how it'd deform though.

Eh, nobody looks in modelling :p And I want ppl to post stuff they make. It's honestly easy to use. I've got no artistic talent for this kind of thing but the program makes it easy enough.

Moved to Modelling... D:

I figured would Karrde would start designing his creations after he developed enough medical knowledge.

...wondering how well it works with right angles and straight lines... if at all.
