You find RE4 scary...and Silent Hill not scary....

so...what? You're more scared of many angry villagers than you are of hell-induced areas with weird sound effects and monsters and scary visuals?

Resident Evil 4 that is one scary game..
not scary at all...its just action most time only scary thing were "los regeneradores" at the end of the game when u are low on ammo.
and the fact that the mini games were cut out in german version of game -.-*

mmmhh i think iv never played and completed "a scary-genre game" besides RE4 .
but the First Encounter Assault Racoon ( :p ) Demo was scary as hell!

Oh yeah, those regenerator things on RE4 were terrifying. I've not played it in a while, but isn't there a weird noise, or some weird music whenever you encounter them?
I thought RE4 could be pretty scary at times, just not in the disturbing, Silent Hill sense. Like in the village at the start, it really managed to create a sense of panic when the las plagas are swarming you in a cabin, people climbing through the windows and a chainsaw guy breaking down the door to get to you.

Their breathing was erratic and way louder than the bg noise and music. It didn't stop when you kocked them down, it didn't stop when you rounded corners to run from them till you got the thermal scope . . . it was persistant and somewhat terrifying. Their strange gait was unnerving too.

Fatal Frame 2

Silent Hill series

Both very well done horror games. I liked Fatal Frame the most because even though it was easier, I felt more helpless. Like, in a game like Doom 3 I at least get the satisfaction of gathering my wits and pumping them full of ion or whatever I have on hand. In Fatal Frame, all you have is a camera, and you have to stare the bastards in the face and time your snap perfectly to take them out. And some of the designs were just REALLY creepy (broken neck lady). Well done stuff.
