The gothic seeries (RPG)
Gothic 1
Gothic 2 + night of raven expansion
Gothic 3 (upcomming addon in the autumn)
It may not have the best graphics ( all are 3D) like crysis or something like that but the way you influence the land you are in and how you model the story is just amazing and the storyline is cliche-free and alot of breath takers.
Critics and some fans alike are not too fond of the new Kingdom under Fire installment; Circle of Doom- but I've been playing it off and on and it's pretty fun, I think. Unlike the others in the series, this one is more RPG-oriented. I believe it's for the PC too. I could be wrong.
Also, crazy though it seems, Freespace 2 is a damn fine space-fighter simulator that's absolutely free on the internet. The designers left a clause in the warranty allowing it to be copied and shared. Not only a good game in it's own right, it has a thriving community full of great campaigns. Definitely a good way to lose a few days worth of time.
