Rap used to be a mainstream, now it's the main mainstream. There is too much and it all sucks, remember the good old times without *****es, bling bling and that kind of shiat. Those where the times i actually liked it, but not anymore.

Some rap is ok, most is pure garbage. I like the Retards-Attempting-Poetry thing, that was hilarious

I kinda like all sorts of music genres, Rap is one of them. but not all of them. I really like Dr. Dre etc, but there are loads of rap around that I think is quite crap.

I'm pretty openminded about music, but I just don't like rap. I tried it and I hated it. I'll happily change my opinion when I find a rap song that doesn't sound like audible dog crap to me. I like metal :)

most "rap" is just talking to a beat, theres not much talent needed there, the front man, lets say eminem in this case doesnt play any of the instruments, his only real skill is jumping around on stage like an idiot and making himself look like 25 year old brat, if he was to actually play any instruments necessary in making his "music" i probabaly still wouldnt like him, but it would be a good mark for him,

yea the populair guys usually think they're great and they Pwn you, but if you look to the more NON-commercial rappers they are MUCH and MUCH better than 50 cent and those other crappy rappers.

Me likes rap, but only some artists

more into rock/punk/goth/metal

Unfortunately theres no such thing as Rap anymore or what used to be defined as Rap - e.g. Grand Master Flash, Sugar Hill Gang. Now its hip-hop\r'n'b where everyone is doing a song featuring someone else - don't get me wrong some of it is still pretty decent but alot of it is just crap.

The whole idea behind rap was to tell a story or get something off your chest and now its kinda been lost - well, to be honest it started to lose its way when Vanilla Ice started "rapping"

- i prefer dance, trance, techno, rave, hard nrg, eurobeat and jpop. oh and classic rock.

The essence of rap is to express how you feel about a certain thing or how you handled a certain situation and what was the outcome. The good beats are what get your attention then the emcee comes in... pulling the crowd in even more with good lyrics. (if he knows what he's doing)

That was the original idea of rap music... to relate with the crowd and express your opinion.

Nowadays.... some of this rap is soooooo commericial it makes you want to cringe and slap all these stupid producers and their stupid agendas. Like GFK... I have gone back to underground. Where artists like Jedi Mind Tricks, Common, Mos Def, Gangstarr, The Beatnuts, and Talib Kweli are trying to bring rap back to what is was.

The only mainsteam artists I can really respect these days are Jay-Z (but he retired) and Nas. Wu Tang Clan is good... but they have so much internal problems they don't spend enough time on their albums.

I enjoy R&B more...but some rap is ok. Tupac has some good stuff as does Jay Z. But nothing will ever beat classic Dre...(Dre doesnt take himself/his music seriously?? Whoever said that obviously hasnt listened to the majority of his music)
