Marines love Call of Duty. I don't see why Medal of Honor would be any different.

Dunno about multiplayer, but I can tell you that the singleplayer campaign for Medal of Honor is a lot better than the Modern Warfare one.

She looks like a zombie though... "brains", staring emotionally to the camera. I bet she just wanted to be on TV.

God i hate parents like that! Especially when they try to find something "bad" about what they are raging about. I just love it how she says that WW2 games are "far removed" and that "people are not actually dying". So i guess that every time you kill a taliban or an american solider in MOH one dies in real life. I guess this will be the first game with actual interactive war experience /sarcasm

But she is actually right on one of here arguments i.e somebody doesn't have to be the bad guy. I remember when I played America's army you picked if you were on the offense or defense and you were always an U.S soldier from your perspective and the enemies were "terrorist"-dressed. Thus from the others perspective, they actually saw their character as an U.S too. The one thing that struck was that the average gamer for these games are 39 years old. Whatever the "valid" argument the old lady has against this game will fall, because people can do whatever they want. If I want to watch a war movie portraying the U.S in the middle east, a warzone.. somebody still has to act and be the bad guy over there?! Will you deny me this then?

That is pure sugarcoating to prevent people from complaining because they are scared to put controversial content into that "game". Like it's not already.

People's feelings are just hurt way too easily nowadays. They are being scared into cancelling or changing games or movies with controversial content. Nobody is forcing you to play these games, and nobody is making you buy it.
If you feel offended by something, don't buy or play it. This is very personal and I know there's plenty of you who will disagree with me on this one;

Remember "No Russian" from Modern Warfare 2? That was an awesome level - and it made perfect sense in the context of the game. Yet the amount of media attention it got because of that level is ridiculous. I've done much, much worse things in video games than gun down some innocent civilians, you know. In games that have never been mentioned on Fox News, either. I dropped 4 nuclear bombs in downtown Venezuela in Mercenaries 2. I'm sure innocents died. Thousands, probably. Nothing in the news though. Atomic Games' Six Days in Fallujah was cancelled after they buckled under the media pressure because it was a "controversial" incident. You know what, so was Chernobyl. So were World War 1 and 2. So were Desert Storm and Desert Fox. There have been tons of games about all of those. But since that's "history", it's okay.

I'm probably gonna get crucified for this stance but people need to stop getting their panties in a bunch over what is nothing else but entertainment. Nobody is going to play Medal of Honor Multiplayer, and go "Holy ****, the Taliban are great! I'm gonna kill some American soldiers now!" How is it different than playing the "OpFor" in Modern Warfare? The kind of mothers portrayed in these videos should really focus their attention elsewhere than the gaming industry.

/pointless rant.. just wanted to say it. >_>

And I couldn't agree with you more, it's just that this was sniffed up by Fox and they are now milking this cow for some headlines. They don't have anything better to cover I guess? And you are totally right, I mean cmon? What are you gonna do? I can swear that the mother on the interview has some errors in the way she raises her children and they will do far more stupid things then play a game...as a taliban! (God forbid :O /sarcasm)

I actually thought Fox didn't do so badly in this particular interview, they did point out that the average gamer age was 35 and that the people playing these particular games are 39 and not "kids". Fox wasn't the bad guy here. :p

Yeah, I know they weren't the bad cop this time...but the whole interview brought up a negative view by parents towards these games.. I can tell you that a lot of kids probably won't be able to fully enjoy it now since their parents are on the watch. I blame Fox news for making this even a subject for an interview.. But yeah, you are right..they did "good".

Well, the ESRB should "protect" people below a certain age from exactly what these parents are trying to do. If the ratings are ignored the blame either falls on the retailer or the parents, who often will buy GTA4 for their 14 year old son, then act shocked when this kid stabs someone with safety scissors and then proceed to sue Rockstar.

Those ratings are there for a reason and I know the sanction on not enforcing them is pretty hefty, and with good reason. Should a parent ignore the ESRB and buy a game FOR their child, they are to blame. Not the industry.

Yes, that is true. But let me give you an example, personally as a war refugee, do you think my mother would let me play CS? Even when I'm in my twenties. Yes, you are correct about the ESRB but some parents don't even give a damn if the child is older than what the age requirement is. I'm just saying that a parent might not let the children play games e.g that have a monthly fee or because of the nature of the game (shooting/horror). Here we have a problem that you can play as the Afghanistan taliban forces. Now what I know as a European, and I unfortunately have a very stereotypical view of the people in the U.S is that some people won't tolerate this. And I blame Fox for letting the cat out of the bag, because parents didn't give a **** before and now they will be all nagging as parents can be.

I understand, but that is out of the retailer's hands as well as that of the ESRB. They have taken precautions to prevent you from buying it illegally. Not being allowed to by your parents is something the law can do nothing about.

Regarding the whole AA story, I think that's more a matter of pride related, which you Americans are quite good at.(and proberly on of the reasons why the game was such a hit in the US).

There's just one thing the lady is forgetting is, and that is the fact that this whole war 'against the taliban' is quite useless since the tali's are ghosts. And I'm not even going to start about the political correctness and financial benefits for the US (yes, I'm a conspiracy theory believer on this topic, sue me).

15 minutes of fame ftw!

You're confusing the Taliban with Al Qaeda. The Taliban is quite visible.
