hi all i was woundering if you guys knew because when i use paint for reskinning i can only use the colors on the pic if you know what the prob is then please let me know or if it's the program or anything plz let me know thanks :cool: if this subject is moved im cool with it well i know thats kinda dumb to say lol

The skin files are in indexed mode, I think. If that's the case you need to open them in a program like photoshop and change the skin files to RGB or RBG mode (can't remember the order exactly).

it happens to me too...
in photoshop..
when i open an indexed skin i can only use the colors
on the pic...and when i copy and paste the pic to RBG and i save it... i can't compile the model...
i think its because i need to make it in index mode after the edit right?

u have to make indexed .bmp files -> rgb files -> so uc an edit them

when i save them to use in model -> u have to make the rgb -> indexed again

Photoshop...and my question is...have u ever worked with photoshop.

And with paint u mean....normal paint...as if standard in windows?

How I do it:
Save the 256 colored bmp to a 24 colored one.
go to photoshop, photodeluxe, w/e. (I use photodeluxe)
make it export as a 256 colored bmp file.. and be sure to pick a option like "exact".
