Man, the "[NL] Gamecity ESF #1" server crashes a lot - and I'm sure I know why. It's to do with powerstruggles. Sometimes, one of the beam heads (the losing one) will act as normal; it looks like it detonates when it hits terrain or a player. However, the remaining one will stay in place forever, since the server will crash at that point. Didn't know whether it was ESF or the server, but I thought I'd report it anyway (it seems to happen a lot).

damn .. this is the fourth thread I'm telling this ...

huge attacks will crash the server ...

in ps' the beams are becoming stronger and stronger ... oo strong for a few servers

[NL] Gamecity ESF #1 is a weak (CPU) server .. it can't calculate the hugest explosions ... that means he crashes ...
we've to holding back ;)

lol ... nice try ... noone buys a P4 for not using it ... don't you think so ...
buy you're own server ... a cable connection and then make him a dedicated server ... then we've one more good server ...
maybe you understand now, what I mean ...

I think you kids have to look at this from a coding point of view.

I'm sure most of the explosions are done client side because harsens is a very smart coder. Theres prolly a missplaced pointer or something getting copyied where it shouldnt be. Again where not talking about very big numbers here people stuff in the millions and explosions using vectors with scaleing balls. Maybe its a problem freeing the edict? Anyways I'm sure hes recreated the problem and debugged it by now.

eh Gimli ... nice for the "kid" ... but ... I'M OLD ENOUGH

I know how to code ... I can code ...

to the client side ... I can ask harSens if he comes online next time ... sorry ... but I know him ... and he REALLY is a GREAT coder ... he fixed a bug in 10 mins (inteam version (i'm a betatester)) ...

But I still think that the server calculates the explosions ... because there're a few servers which crash easyly and a few which you could get crashed ...

Hm... well, the explosion is drawn clientside, but that's not really the point. There seemed to be a bug in the beta1 ps code, wich is completely redone to support multiple ps's, and should be more stable. The other possible cause of this bug is that there isn't a max radius for the explosions, meaning that if they get really big, the radius signed integer might overflow, making the radius negative, wich the clientside drawing code probably won't like. I fixed this up too for beta1.1.
