who cares what hes doing with his own games that he paid money for?

if he wants to cheat all he wants then sure more power to him he bought the stuff for it and its damned annoying to hear people constantly berate people for cheating in games like its their responcibility to govern over the games and make sure no one cheats

yeah - cheating is only a problem in multiplayer games, doing it in single player is fine, since it can be fun to mess around with the games a bit :)

Seconded (Well, Thirded)

I've heard some bad things about the first generation of Slimline 'PSTwo's', bad circulation, freezes/crashes and things like that, but I hear they've been resolved so just don't buy it second hand and you'll be back in San Andreas shooting hookers with uzi's before you know it. If you don't have the money for a slimline then I highly reccomend the Satin Silver PS2 as a second choice.

Black PS2 - The worst out of the three and also the cheapest, has problems reading discs at later points in it's lifespan.

Satin Silver PS2 - The enhanced version of the above, comes with a built in IR sensor for the PS2 DVD remote and has no disc read errors. Is completley soundproofed which is great. Cheaper now that the PSTwo has been released.

PSTwo (A.K.A Slimline PS2) - Smaller, quieter, has built in internet function (!) The best and most expensive choice.

All three can play DVD's, have 2 USB ports, connect to the internet, and can support a 20gb Hard Drive.

So depending on your budget, i'd say get the PSTwo, but if you want to spend less then the Satin Silver is great too.

hmmm, I've had my PS2 close to 3 years now. Nothing has happened and its running just fine. Only games I play on it are Final Fantasy and DBZ, the rest of the time I use it for a backup DVD player incase my computer won't play a DVD. I suppose I could use my Xbox to play DVDs but I really don't want to shell out the 30 bucks for the stupid remote. I donno, I've kept my PS2 clean and sort of free from dust. I clean all my systems when I get the chance. All in all its doin pretty good.

Well I got my PS2 pretty much when it came out, I still got the box, and the price on it 299.99 =\,
My father was going to purchase the new slim PS2, but some person told him not to purchase it, I have the internet adapter (never use it..) and a extremelly worn out controller, My current one is in the pawn shop (sigh..) and it cost's 120$ to get it out.. while the one at a local store (future shop) is selling them for 180$.... would it be a waste to purchase the new PSTwo..?

The reason he was probably told not to get it was the first wave of PSTwo's was riddled with hardware errors such as semi-functional USB ports and insufficient circulation, causing it to overheat. They fixed the problems and released the second generation of PSTwo's, now in the shops. If you have something you want to play and nothing to play on it then sure, get one. It has a built-in Internet Adaptor so you could probably sell your old one.

well what the guy basicly told my father was,
If you're son has a perfectly working PS2 then why waste you're money buying a new one?....
I wish I was there to smack him in the face at that point...
