hey guys... i got a question, how do u make pictures less visible in photoshop 7? i need to make a picture almost invisible so u can see right through it to my new sig! my FIRST sig actually

EDIT: ohh yea and how do u cut in a picture and move around with it??? i have tryed everything :S i am a n00b to this i know but dont be an ******* please!

Ok, if you paste an image into a canvas, you will see a new layer in the layers box, and in the layer box you will see a bar that sasy "opacity" and "fill". As you lower the "opacity" bar the image will become less visable. And i dont understand your second question.

you can either have 100% invisible, or 0% invisible, nothing in between

the only format that you can use as transparancy, and wich this forum supports as sig, is .gif files i think, not to sure tho

just make sure than you want the invisible stuff to be on layer one (the layer cant have anything in it -> checkered bg) then u add new layers with the visible stuff, and of you go, save as gif with transparancy on, and ur done

you can use crop tool to mess with images, rezising them, cutting parts away etc.

best teacher is experience though, just mess with the options that PS7 offers. or check some basic tutorial sites.

dunno what exactly ur asking but if u want a transperant background when u create a new project make sure u select the "transperant" box and not "white" and make sure u save the file as a .gif.
If u ment that u wanted to lower the opacity of a layer just select that layer in ur layers box and in the top right corner of that box u have an opacity = 100% bar which u slide. also try messing around with the blending modes to the left of that bar.

to cut something and move it, just cut it either using the marquee tool, the lasso tools ( lasso, magnetic, polygon ) or the magic wand. after u have made ur selection just use the move tool ( black cursor on top right corner of ur tools pallet ) to move it around.

thx all... think i'll try again then i got alot of toturials but i haven't see nany that tells u how to make them less visible or cut in a picture :S

well you got lasso tools to cut in a picture.

if you want a pic less visible, you can lower the opacity..it makes the picture more transparant. if you got a transparant background aswell, save the file as a .gif with transparancy on. this enables you to look through your picture a bit, and see the background on a site.

if thats not what you mean, then I have no idea what you want.

Do you mean Extracting pictures? Then Press ALT+CTRL+X (by default) That is the easiest way to manipulate pictures, Just zoom in and be accurate www.good-tutorials.com has everything you should need.
