Its not about the weight, it's about the engine. I also have a 1.1 206 peugeot and he won't ho over 170 km/h, that's why i don't unerstand how that guy drive so fast....
Look at the video, does it look like a fake ?

He's barely breaking 190 - he does say "nearly stock" implying he had some work done. So yes, this should be possible. I kinda doubt it still. The video looks real enough though. If you can trust just the meters shown that is.
I drive a 1.6 120hp car, it weighs about 960kg's. It has the same symptom as this car. It goes to 190/195 fairly fast but from that point it crawls towards 210ish. So yes, it looks realistic.

The very best there is.

Classified.
Since it's not a truck, the speedometer doesn't need to be that accurate, as long as it's showing at least the real speed. At these levels, you can safely subtract some 10-15 km/h.
Still, nothing about this car is suitable for this speed. The brakes won't be able to stop the car in an appropriate time, the suspension won't be able to take more than the slightest turns...

I find it hard to believe that that tiny engine has the required torque in 5th gear to propel it against the wind resistance up to ~200. My best guess is that he was accelerating downhill on a gradient or maybe even tailgating someone which is highly dangerous. There's probably a good reason he ain't showing you the view outside. Also what suicidal maniac works their radio at that speed? Especially in a stock car that can't stop or steer for shit!

Ok i will tell you the truth :). That car was mine and i was driving, but my speedometer doesnt work anymore, sometimes it shows 20-30-40-50 km much or less then i'm driving.
In the video i was in the 4th gear and i was driving with 150km/h and i'm not maniack, exactly that day a button from my dvd player broke and when i was listening music it was always changing or fastforwading the sonsg :)).

Well that makes sense :p. I knew you couldn't do that speed because my 1.2 16V Twingo struggled to reach 180km/h on a downhill slope on the Autobahn (mind you, car full of people and luggage). But the torque of these little N/A petrol cars and the gear ratios will never allow them to reach ~200, nevermind the wind resistance which gets too much for such light cars at those speeds.

Also I'm glad you weren't being inconsiderate at those speeds and playing with the radio. Thank you.

PS: I'm Romanian too :).
