Old cartoon/anime I'm looking for?

It's an old one, and the person is able to gain powers from cards.. at least, using cards.. to able to fuse with it, etc. It's hard to explain.. but in the end of the serie 2 of his friends turned into cards and the person fused with the cards to become powerful to face the enemy. It is much like digimon, but It's also not yu-gi-oh. This is quite old as well, so wonder if someone can help me finding it.

Seriously. If you find that one girl that happens to be both cute and like anime, guess what type of man she wants? Tuxedo Kamen, baby. Watch a shoujo series, look for the singular awesome mail the chickadees all fawn over, then make yourself him.

Tuxedo Kamen had to be the corniest guy in the genre. In most shoujo, characters like that are complete freaks which every female character fantasises over. Tokyo Mew Mew *shudders*.
