No sound HELP!

My friend tried fixing my front panel headphone jack yesterday, but we failed getting it to work, but when we ungpluged them from my motherboard and said screw it, and pluged up my other speakers back in on the back jack THERES NO SOUND! i reinstalled teh drivers and did a system restore and everything.....any ideas? this better be fixable, cause i thnk my warrenty just ran out -_- its an Asus A7N8X Deluxe if that helps witht he problem and the sound is onboard.......i hope some1 can help gtg now c ya!

Did you open the case and mess around with the hardware to try and fix the jack? If you did that and screwed up in doing that, all the right software in the world couldn't help you. Opening the case also voids most warranties afaik.

i built my pc so no warrenty to void lol, but i just tried getting th front panel headphone jack to work which it didnt so i just pulled ou thte plugs he put in and it happened when we put them in in the first place

FIrst things first, you don't have the sound muted Do you? I also noticed that your mobo has 6 channel sound. Do you have the speaker plugged into the right one? If your mobo is anything like mine I can reassign which channel is used for what. You might want to try that also.

i have the asus A7N8X Deluxe not the -E version, but i fixed it, i pluged the things back in like i think they should go but the front audio still does not work but the back one thankfully does lol so im gonna say screw it and leave it as is
