I disagree with you here....the PSP IMO looks like a game gear...way to big and clunky...its like a mini computer. And only a 2.5 hour battery life with video??? Whats up with that...I dont want to be packin external battery packs (lol not to mention buying them all the time) with me everywhere i go.

I think PSP will win out in the end cause theres millions and millions of sony junkies now....but i think nintendo will have a better sys with better quality games.

Yea i agree, not to metion nintendo has alot more experince than the sony company as they"ve been around longer and dominated the handheld industry so they pretty much have a better idea of good quality games, i just wish they could did the graphics slightly better than the gamecube that would really changes things around and the comptetion would be more evened out since no one probally wants N64 graphics

the ds will have awhole lot of well known launch titles from metroid prime to super mario

with such games theres no way its gonna go down


sony has no uber killer app yet and thats gonna be its weak spot untill fixed

True...sony lacks good mascots...but look at how well the PS did compatred to N64 and the PS2 to the Cube......just goin by trends here id put my money on the PSP beatin out the DS in sales.

And just when you thought it was a simple thread on the release of a console, it turns into DS Vs PSP. Honestly, you guys are gonna get this topic banned. :\

Anyway both consoles look incredible, the PSP has mind blowing graphics for a handheld (yes, they do pwn the DS!) However I think people are under estimating the DS. I mean just look at this; you can actually carve figures with the touch screen capability. I can see a lot of originality coming from Nintendo in the coming years..

and i agree people seem to be over looking what the ds has

psp has practicaly nothing in its game line up where ds has everything the gba had and tons of new stuff like metroid prime and super mario combined with the touch pad and the nifty second screen its a very well designed hand held

hmm I fear for Nintendo, because the PSP is coming up. but I think the compatibility with GBA games makes it a perfect handheld. I think everybody who has a GBA will buy a thing like the DS. wise move to do that. also I think the second screen may add a lot to the gameplay.

I'm curious how the PSP will do against the DS.

Well all will be revealed come release date - i really don't see Nintendo losing this console war but if it does, its basically lost its major source of profit seeing as Nintendo basically own the handheld market.

The PSP should and deserves to do well. With the amount of money, research and development not to mention technology and experience behind the project, Sony really don't have anything to worry about.

IMO, the PSP looks sleek, stylish, original, and very crisp, whereas the DS looks clunky and... ugly.

Original my foot!!! It looks like a hotted up gameboy advance. Whats original about that? nothing.

BTW New zelda = no more cell graphics + riding on horse while slashing sword = gonna be soooo good.

DS has great potential, while PSP is gonna be great..I feel it might just loose this time around.

Not to mention DS signing on a ton of 3rd party developers to make more games like PSP (they are doing something right for once).

I'm sorry, but the last time I checked, this thread was called "Nintendo DS Revealed!", not "Nintendo DS Revealed: Let's dispute which will win of PSP and the DS!"

This is not the place to compare, and I don't need to see this thread closed. I, for one, want to see more DS updates posted here, as I am interested in it. If you want to compare the DS to the PSP, do so in a thread of that topic, but don't get this one closed with the already-brewing console war....please.

The DS looks alright, its not amazing and the second screen seems bascially useless, the PSP will pretty much will dominate the handheld market unless nintendo can come with a strong third party.
