It needs a bit more contrast on the sides to match the middle, I think. Also, the text in the top one isn't that good. I'd add a border on them both though, just for neatness. The tattoo and the way he holds his hand also point out quite well what he's doing, so kudos for choosing a proper stock.

It's not bad, but it can be better.

When you're using the dodge tool, use midtones and shadows, not just highlights, same for burn.
