need help

used to play on steam but it has been awhile anyway heres my problem
i resinstall halflife and then the patch then i install esf and the patch i get an option to install to Won or Steam on the esf install..ok the esf installs to steam ok but the orginal install of halflife must not be installed to steam because i dont get the half life icon under play games section of steam ...i was wondering how do i convert the orginal halflife files to steam because there not there under playgames thx..

I'm not sure how to help with the way you're doing it but if you start over, install only steam from the offical steam site, it will then have half-life in the playgames, double click it, let it install and you're good to go.

just had to dig up my old account that was the problem forgot you had to have the cd key in steam..thx for the reply
