I wont spoil it, but the naruto/sakura vs. Kakashi wont be as special as people think it will be XD.
that already is kind of spoiling ... DAMN YOU!!11!!! ahaha

anyways, I really enjoyed this episode and the grown up characters are not as unusual as I expected them to be .. kind of.
I didnt really like how shikamaru turned out ... idunno I just dont like the "new" hairline" (like where the hair starts on his forehead)
Oh yeah and I agree with you on the spoiler part .. that was unnecessary

It was awesome, I love the new sound track, it's so much more dramatic than the original series. I really hope they are consistent with the new standard of animation; unlike in the first series were about 5 or so episodes displayed fluent animation that was just outstanding (episode 133 for example), and then the other 200 episodes where like powerpoint presentations (episode 134 for example). Well, I was really happy with it, but I did think the opening sequence with sasuke was pointless, since that doesn't happen for awhile (sai hasn't even been introduced yet). However, I think that was just some manga fan service. I just can't wait for next week.

Im having a hard time here because I started watching naruto last october, and they were about in the middle of the fillers. So I would watch all teh episodes one after another, and didnt have to wait a week..

Its hard getting used to this 1 episode, wait a week, 1 episode, wait a week..

>_<

Well, I saw it, and I really liked it. Couple things in it werent in the manga actually. Not that I remember anyway, I gota re-read it XD

But anyway, I didnt like the spoiler in the beggining (Even though I read the manga and I knew where they were as soon as I saw naruto running looking for him) but still, I didnt want to hear sasuke's voice and see him till that episode.

It was just kinda a foreshadowing. If I had to guess, that should be like 30 episodes from now.

Still, overall I enjoyed it. Its nice to be watching it again. Animation is better, but I expected his voice to be deeper.

I wont spoil it, but the naruto/sakura vs. Kakashi wont be as special as people think it will be XD.
I've read the manga, and I know how it ends. The point is, you shouldn't start a series off with two half hours of near pointlessness.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it against the rules to talk about fansubbers on the forum? Or is it allowed now because Shippuden isn't licensed yet? Just wondering.

Well I got to say, I watched it earlier and it was pretty damn phenomenal. The music was pro, animation was pretty damn good (3d scenes were kinda cheesy), but all in all I was really impressed. Definatly got me hooked again.

Its confusing that they put so much of what's to come in the first 10 minutes of the show, if I hadn't already read the manga I'd be like wtf, but its awesome nonetheless. My only beef is that they wasted a full five minutes on pointless stuff when they could have been showing the opening blows of Kakashi vs Naruto and Sakura

The only thing that bothered me is that Sakura's hair never grew back, and her breast are the same size, I know that sounds perverted but I wasn't expecting that.

Masashi Kishimoto said he tried to make Sakura have no sex appeal when he first designed her, this is probably why he didnt wanna give her a huge bust, as for the hair thing, i think it looks better short tbh.

Im not overly impressed, episodes are like the rest of the naruto anime, takes forever to get to the point =/, i mean i understand the need for creating drama and comedy, but they make it drag to the point i just cant watch it =\

I'm just happy it's finally started. The beginning there was totally unnecessary (except to snag us), and then they proceeded to waste a TON of time just leading us around and having nothing happen... but that's how shows work I guess. Especially long ones. I'm sure it'll pick up... I mean, if it's following the manga, it has to.

I liked it but I think the biggest problem was that was really just a single episode and not really a 2 part episode like it should of been.

Also was it just me or did it seem like the second part of the episode was drawn kind of ****y? Sakura most of all she was drawn just horribly.

Anime drawers could never draw Sakura decently. Same goes for everyone else if you count in the fillers...

You need to remember that animators always take a little while to catch their stride when drawing new characters, just because the lead animator for Sakura knows how to draw her well, doesnt mean everyone else does.

As for the pacing of Naruto, if you've read the manga you know it doesnt jump right into things, so dont act so suprised.

and as for the "spoiler" at the start, did you ever think that was their attempt to inject a little more action into the episode?

I can understand how people get frustrated about how long it takes for things to really take off, but Naruto is more of a Character driven show, so you cant expect it to follow the same formula as some of the souless plot driven rubbish out there.

I have no problems waiting for things to unfold, if you're that desperate to see what happens, read the manga.

Action? Theres hardly any action in a 10 minute long prologue, one explosion and one sword stab. If they wanted inject action they could have left the whole spoiler thing out and maybe start off the Kakashi vs. Naruto/Sakura fight in the end of the episode...

I think it was a way to make the episode longer without putting any fillers in it and they wanted to save all the action to the next episode, so they decided boast with their animation quality at the start of the episode.

Actually, animators are assigned by relevance and importance of a scene. The better the animator the more they put them to work, they use the better for complex perspective shots, heated action, crucial emotional scene's and other such important things. Less-able animators are used for your casual dialogue and filler. The difference is more noticeable depending on the length and demand of the anime.

I've read the manga indeed, but I know that what was contained in that double episode could easily have been included in one, fact is they'd rather stretch it out than get to the point. Its not just that though, naruto anime takes after the dbz anime, every possible junction they'll throw in a flashback, or a 5 minute establishing shot needlessly - there's quite a difference between setting a scene/situation with a pause, and taking the piss, usually a pause is there for the viewer to take into account what somebody is thinking, or for them to realise the setting. However in naruto/dbz they like to milk every moment they can. I can understand it being character driven, but its horribly directed, horribly.
