The lineart is by Patrick Shettelsworth

I would've used my own drawing but i don't have a scanner so i used his. I got some help from Polykarbons tutorial

didn't spend even half as much time on this one as i spent on the first one. The lineart is from the manga Hunter X Hunter :p

For a first try it's pretty good. I believe that it's better to learn manual coloring before you move to digital, but I know that not everyone agrees with that. The way I look at it you need to ask yourself something when you color anything: does the color help or hurt the lineart? In this case I think that PK loses a lot of her detail when you lay the color on there. I think you should reread that blending mode tutorial to get a better grasp of the depth involved. Also observe things in real life and see how light and shadow react in different circumstances. Right now what you have is a little flat.
