When you are fighting someone the camera moves a lot, take a look at the videos.. I mean you can't see your surroundings like that.
Why not make it simple instead of the fancy camera work ? seems to me like it will confuse a lot of people

Most camera effects can be disabled via console.

As Nedgi said

Most can be turned off. But there are some that are forced such as a disorientating camera when you get thrown

My thoughts exactly. Basically we are planing a 2 stage system for the camera. Stage 1 is forced on people. So getting hit/thrown or stuff like that will have an effect that throws off the players aim and so on. Stage 2 is the eye candy stuff that can be turned on or off at will and includes stuff like transformation cameras, attack charge camera animations and so forth.
