maps that dont work!

i have dl some maps from esf-world and some of em dont seem to work. i put every thing where it supos to go and every thing

on esf_cellarena_b3 i get a fatal error worning couldn't open namek.wad
and Hellhound_otherworldtornament-12 fatal error worning couldn't open lookout.wad
i did not get thos files with the lds

i dunno wot the :fight: hell im on about can any 1 help

Appears they didn't come with the .wad that they needed to work.

This is why people should compile their maps with wadinclude/nowadtextures, so the .wad files are embedded. =/

I remember that namek.wad was in the older installers of ESF, and I'm rather sure lookout.wad was too, if I'm correct in assuming it was for the (at the time) esf_kami team map. I can't remember the exact versions in which those maps were removed, but they're not included anymore, hence you don't have the texture .wads for them.

Try to find an installer for ESF Beta 1.0 or near it, install it to any directory you wish, and you can copy the .wads from it to place in your current ESF folder. Someone might have the files and be generous enough to send them to you or host them for you if you're on a slower connection.

ok in sted of looking on the net for the files i just copyed existing wad files and renamed em to lookout and so on. the maps work no but the texturs ever dont show up or are wrong. easy fix tho

Heh, that's what we like to call a hack. =P

...Yeah, the textures aren't going to show up since the map is looking for textures that aren't in the .wad file(s) it has open. If you want it to work the way it should, you'll need to get the correct .wad files.
