I like to play on lan with bots and friends (or both). For some reason, the map list doesn't have the ESF maps, but instead it has the normal HL maps. This isn't really big, but I think it kind of weird to be playing ESF in Boot Camp or Crossfire...

I searched and everything, so sorry if this was asked before...

thanks

check the shortcut with which you run esf.

the start in box should have your halflife path (or steam if you use that)

e.g. c:\games\halflife or c:\games\steam - wherever the program is located at.

Ok, this is weird. If i start it from the shortcut, it shows hl maps. But if I start it from the custom games list, it shows ESF maps.

ESF is in: C:\Sierra\Half-Life\ESF
the ESF shortcut is: C:\Sierra\Half-Life\hl.exe -game esf

Right click on the ESF shortcut and then click on properties. In the Start In box, write C:\sierra\half-life (Your hl directory) or put your steam directory in and then click ok.

*sigh* Your problem is that you are running WON.

Try steam. www.steampowered.com

Download and install it it's only 700kb Not large at all. Would take a few minutes for dial up.

After you've done that intall half life into steam, then esf into half life. Make sure you play HL once.

This should help you. WON died, STEAM is now used, because it's newer, and unlike WON it updates itself.

wow, I didn't know that that would be the problem, but now it makes sense.
Until I get to making Steam work, I'll just open it through HL.
