I just got a new computer and it uses Windows XP. I install Half-Life and test it out and it works great. Then I install ESF and neither Half-Life or ESF will work anymore! Help me!

You're going to have to give us more than that, how exactly do they not work? do you get an error when you try to run them, if so then tell us the error, does it just not start up? Does it quit to desktop? Give us specs on your computer, namely your video card, processor and ram. Then we might be able to help you.

When I run ESF the screen turns black and does nothing. I have to use CTRL+ALT+DELETE to shut it down. No error message anywhere.

My computer:

Intel Pentium 4 Processor at 2.4GHz
512MB DDR SDRAM at 333MHz
64MB GeForce4 MX Graphics Card

Try changing to the OpenGl video mode, and turn the resolution not to high, i suggest 1024x764 or something like that.

I can't even get to the main menu! When ever I double click on the ESF shortcut on my desktop all I get is a black screen. Same thing goes for Half-Life.

:\

Uninstall both HL and ESF,reinstall HL then make sure you change your render mode to OpenGL then install ESF

Had that problem with NS before because I accidentaly set my render mode to D3D,then the whole screen turned black, except the menus still work, just not rendered onto the screen :\
