Im trying to hunt down a backlit keyboard that suits my needs. Everything I seem to find is a different combination of the good not justifying the bad.

The primary features Im looking for are;
- backlit + be able to assign individually backlit keys (different profiles is a bonus)
- buttons that arent poorly designed/tacky to use
- a backspace key thats a default size (been using a KB with a tiny backspace key, most irritating thing in the world hitting Home instead all the time
- straightforward design, something like the G15 is tacky and useless to me

The only KB I like that I can find which can individually assign keys is this but I cant seem to get my hands on the white model or the numpad, and they are only available through ThinkGeek it seems. I may settle for the black model if theres no alternative.

I like the Razer Lycosa, but the backlit scheme was very poorly thought through. I like the Saitek EclipseII, but the keys are poor, and no individual lighting.

Price doesnt concern me (except when it comes to this insanity), so long as I can assign individual keys and using the keyboard isnt irritating.

You guys know of any interesting KB models?

I have the G11

Love it, except the keys on the side, I don't use.

The G19 seems pretty cool, but a bit pricey. It could do without some of the embellishments I think. The G11 seems to have some good reviews, but Im not sure you can assign backlit keys. I dont like the surplus design of it, but if it does what I want I might go for it.

The Optimus was in my first post Green :p Cool novelty, but not $1600 cool.

The Saitek Cyborg seems to do what I want, but I remember seeing one is a store and not being too impressive with it up close.

The Optimus is an overpriced piece of crap. It is impossible to type on.
