little help with tutorials for blender

hi all, i tried to find a character tutorial where you learn how to model with a background image but
so far no succes maybe one of you guys know where to find one..
i found one but they ask money for it ^^

pls don't post try google.. this is a help thread so i expect serious help and not lame comments

If you can use vert by vert modeling in blender then it doesnt matter that it aint for that specific program.

So there might be a character modeling tutorial on it, or at least some tutorials that will help you learn the program in such a way that you might be able to figure out how to model a character with other tutorials for different programs.
