hmm k, im a bit of a newb when it comes to websites and gettin the friggin pics to work, so mind if i jack this thread for a little help too?

K, i have my site at freewebs. And im tryin to get the image i uploaded to use as my avatar and im puttin in

What am i doin wrong? It tells me it cant find the image

well if you want it as an avatar, you dont have to put in the img tags. in the avatar line it already expects you to do a .jpg or .gif file.

in the signature box however, you do need to img tags. and the tags you did were ok. (except for the spaces ofcourse).

if the pic aint working, it's most likely because the host of your pic is currently down, i'm sure it will be back up any time soon.

hmmm yeah weird, i dont think the host is down, i just made the page and i can go into it and upload and stuff. It doesnt tell me it cant find the pic anymore, it just reloads the avatar page and has no avatar automatically selected (even though i had custom avatar picked before)
Is this just the forums bein weird?

yes that could be a glitch in the forums, more people had trouble with that. i'm sure it will be fixed when greg has time. you see people have regular jobs besides being busy with esf and the forums. so please just wait till they can sort it

OK! There's all kinds of things wrong with this. NE1L, people asked you to quit with the double and triple posting. I'm giving you a warning for that. ESF chat is not the place for testing. Next, ESF chat is also not the place to ask questions about problems with ESF. That's wha the help forum is for, and I encourage you to post all questions there because the regulars are always willing to help. We also maintain a help channel on IRC. irc.gamesnet.net #esf-help. As for your avatar/sig problem, I'd suggest looking to the signature forum under artwork. They can help on those matters there.

To summarize, please do not double and triple post, it's a forum rule. I'd suggest you browse the acceptable use policy which states all of our rules. Also, in the future, please post in the appropriate sections. I am going to close this thread now. If you have further questions, look to the aforementioned sections and start a new thread.
