I had an epiphany this morning, guys.
The obesity epidemic is a huge problem in America. I myself cannot go anywhere without looking around and noticing 1/3rd of my fellow Americans being drastically overweight. I've long since wondered what the cause of this could be and this morning, I think I've found it.
If you look at the stats, women were introduced to the work force during WW2. After the war, a lot of women went back home to be stay at home mothers, but this was the a significant event in American history. It paved the way for women to start joining the work force in mass, which they did starting in the 1970's. Coincidentally, the obesity epidemic started in the 1950's and really began to take off during the 1970's.
I argue that women are the cause of the obesity epidemic. When women began joining the work force, less home cooked meals were prepared for the family. The home cooked meals were made suffered in quality and thus, suffered in how healthy they were for you. More and more Americans eat food out as more and more women join the work force.
The solution is pretty obvious to me. As Mark Twain probably said, there is nothing more important than one's health. Because of this, I deem it important and, indeed, logical to ban women from the work force. Of course I don't mean to ban them all overnight from the work force, that would not work well at all. But I do think it would be wise to ban 1/10th of women born after, say, 2012 from joining the work force. The one's banned would be chosen randomly. The amount of women banned from the work force will slowly increase every decade, so that in 50 years, women are largely staying at home (where they traditionally "belonged") so that they can prepare sandwiches and the like.
In addition to making Americans live longer and happier, I believe that this plan will help solve the economy crisis we find ourselves in. The unemployment rate will undoubtedly plummet as there will be less and less positions that are required to be filled. American's used to be able to support a family on one person's salary, we can do it again.
